Functional Skills - ICT

Student being supported by a staff member with ICT

In ICT students work towards City and Guilds Functional Skills qualifications and include IT safety training, working closely with the residential houses and the IT team to ensure young people develop their skills so that they can safely use the internet and communicate using social networks and email. Students are supported to understand and learn how they can use their own technology to develop their skills and increase their independence.

Students are taught skills that enable them to increase their independence but also include exam skills in order to give them an opportunity to achieve recognised qualifications.

At Aurora Foxes, students explore the following areas within entry level, level 1 and level 2:

  • Using ICT
  • Finding and selecting information
  • Developing, presenting and communicating information
