Compulsory Vaccination Legislation 2021

Compulsory vaccination legislation 2021

There is a new law coming into effect, on 11th November 2021, that will apply to all care homes in England, which are registered with the Care Quality Commission and provide nursing or personal care. As such, this new law will apply to Orchard Manor and Hyde Lodge.

The Government has decided that certain groups of people, aged 18 and over, will be required by law to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 by 11 November 2021, if they wish to enter a care home on or after this date.

The Government is applying this new law to prospective residents and anyone accompanying them on visits.

This means that prospective residents and their family/carers, friends or health or social care professionals, aged 18 and over, wishing to enter either Orchard Manor or Hyde Lodge, on or after 11th November 2021, must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and provide satisfactory evidence of this.

There is a limited list of medical exemptions and acceptable evidence of a medical exemption must be provided for the exemption to apply.

For a full list of these exemptions and further information on providing evidence, please visit the following website;

We are happy to offer virtual visits and assessments where required. The new law does not apply to residents who live with us or their visiting family and friends.
