At Aurora Hanley School, we are incredibly proud of our 2024 leavers and the exciting paths they are now taking. Their stories highlight not only their individual talents and resilience but also the impact of the personalised support and care they received at Aurora Hanley. Here’s what some of our former students are up to.
Brandon K
Brandon is at NSCG College, where he is studying Level 2 BTEC Art. He’s creating some fantastic work and is really enjoying the course. His success is a testament to his hard work, as well as the support he received during his time at Aurora.
Callum H
After enrolling in a motor vehicle mechanics course at Burslem College and securing an apprenticeship, Callum decided to pursue a more academic path. He’s currently looking for employment and plans to enrol at Newcastle-under-Lyme College in September 2025.
Calum T
Calum is excelling in his music course at NSCG. Despite a setback due to a perforated eardrum, his determination and the quality of his work have enabled him to remain on the course. He recently achieved a distinction for his current piece of coursework and is already working at Level 3 standard, even though he’s enrolled on a Level 2 course. He’s determined to stay and finish his year at NSCG.
James L
James is flourishing in his E-Sports course at Lichfield College, where he finds the academic work manageable. Socialising has been a challenge, but he’s made a good friend, which has boosted his confidence. His independence has grown too - he now travels by train and has learnt to manage his anxiety. James fondly remembers his time at Aurora and still keeps in touch with his school friends every night.
“Thank you again for everything you have done for James over the years. I know without a shadow of a doubt, that we would not be where we are today without the support, knowledge and care Aurora gave to James.” James’ parent.
Lily R
Lily initially started a Level 3 Health and Social Care course at South Cheshire College in Crewe, but she struggled in the environment, and it simply wasn’t for her. With the support of the local council, she transitioned to a foundation year at Keele University, where she is now thriving. Lily is studying for a Psychology degree and has even booked her driving test for spring!
We are so proud of all our students and wish them every success in their futures beyond Aurora Hanley School.
