New name for specialist school

Following consultations with students and staff, Aurora Brambles School in Leyland has been renamed from today (6 September) to Aurora Brooklands School.

Sarah Gregory, Principal of Aurora Brooklands and Aurora Woodlands schools said: “This is the perfect time to rename the school, as lots has changed and it’s a very different school to the one Aurora took over in 2016. Our sister school Woodlands in Darwen renamed in the same way in 2019 and students and staff here at Brooklands were keen to put their own stamp on their school too.

“Lots of different names were considered but we wanted something that connected us with our sister school and of course our lovely rural location, hence Brooklands. Everyone had a chance to suggest a name and vote on their preference.

“We’re all very proud of the work that we do here that enables pupils to thrive and I’m looking forward to seeing the achievements of our Brooklands pupils in the year ahead.”

Aurora Brooklands is an independent specialist day school, offering personalised academic and therapeutic support to young people aged 9-16 who face various challenges associated with social, emotional and mental health needs, including those who face communication and behavioural challenges associated with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
