Boveridge: My story, My journey.

In September 2019 I didn’t know it at the time but my life was about to change forever.

I joined the Aurora Beeches, when I arrived at Aurora Boveridge I was a shell of a person. I had no real quality of life, I had no friends, no qualifications, and to be honest not much worth living for. My mental health was so low, and if you saw me today, you wouldn’t think I was the same boy who joined all those years ago.

But from day one I felt the support from all the staff. In 2020 I joined the college, with the help and support of staff I made some new friends, and started enjoying lessons.

The journey was still so far from over though, I was still struggling a lot, it took 2 years of trying to get the funding but eventually I managed to become a residential student.

In April 2022 I joined residential, within a matter of weeks so much had changed, I was no longer controlled as much by my OCD, my mental health was starting to get better and I had a new quality of life.

It wasn’t always easy, there was many lows but they were always outweighed by so many highs, I’ve made some amazing friends throughout the years that I’m so grateful for.

I will genuinely remember this place with fond memories for the rest of my life, from the therapy team, education, Beeches and of course residential they all have been amazing.

Boveridge may have started as a place of education for me, but it became so much more throughout the years, it was a home to me.

All I can say is thank you.
