Welcome to our school

Aurora Charnwood School is located in North Leicestershire, and operates across three sites in Coalville (opening soon), Hinckley and Nanpantan. Designed to support children and young people who may find larger mainstream environments do not meet their needs as effectively, our three sites offer a unique opportunity for children and young people to flourish in calm, low-arousal learning environments.

Aurora Charnwood School’s Coalville site is a specialist setting, offering personalised academic and therapeutic support for children and young people aged 5 to 19 in a calm, nurturing environment.

We specialise in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those who may have experienced time away from formal education or who have an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Our skilled and experienced team works alongside each pupil to build confidence, develop resilience and support them to achieve their full potential. We recognise that every young person is different, and we focus on understanding their individual strengths, interests and needs.

Hinckley site

Catering for learners aged 7 to 19, our Hinckley site is based within an historic Victorian building in the heart of the town. Cutting edge technology sits comfortably alongside the stunning architectural features, thoughtfully restored and showcased to inspire modern learners.

Nanpantan site

Our Nanpantan site is Whittle Hill Farm.  This is an old farm building that is fully utilised to include a range of classroom based learning opportunities as well as outside space for Forest Schools.
