Your experience with us

A pupil at Aurora Charnwood School will experience a personalised, supportive and nurturing learning environment where their individual strengths, interests and needs are understood and valued. Pupils will benefit from a curriculum that combines academic learning with hands-on experiences, personal development and preparation for adulthood, while receiving tailored therapeutic and behavioural support through individual plans, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and consistent routines. Throughout their time at the school, pupils will be encouraged to build confidence, resilience, communication skills and self-regulation, helping them feel safe, successful and ready to achieve their full potential.

Every student has a tutor who offers consistent support and encouragement throughout the school day and supports communication with families. Individual student behaviour plans (S.S.P) help our students develop positive self-regulation and coping strategies, facilitating their learning and creating a positive school experience for everyone. Our focus is on supporting each student to understand their diagnosis, build their resilience and reduce their anxiety.

Uniform

We recognise that every student processes the world around them differently and some students may have a sensory processing diagnosis. To that end, there is no uniform at Aurora Charnwood School.

School Transport

This is all organised by the relevant local authority.
