Aurora Beeches School hosts MP visit

There was an extra activity added to the regular timetable at Aurora Beeches in Cranborne last Friday (November 14) that involved a tour by North Dorset MP Simon Hoare.
Mr Hoare visited Beeches school to learn more about the provision available to SEND pupils in his constituency. The school supports up to 60 pupils aged between 11 and 16 who have additional learning needs including autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.
Interim Head of School Kate Stradling said she was grateful to Mr Hoare for taking the time to visit the school, visit some of the lunchtime clubs and meet some of the students.
“I’m proud to show Mr Hoare some of the wonderful things being achieved by our young learners at Beeches and to introduce him to members of my incredible staff who work and advocate tirelessly for our pupils.” Kate Stradling, Head of School
Following his visit, Mr Hoare, a Conservative MP since 2015, said: “It was a great pleasure to revisit Aurora Beeches School to meet pupils and staff. It was particularly interesting to hear from some of the pupils directly about how the school was making a real and important difference to their lives and learning.”
Aurora Strategy Director Dan Slater said: “Specialist schools such as Aurora Beeches School are equipped with highly skilled teaching, support and therapeutic teams that are specifically geared towards helping young people achieve their potential in all aspects of their lives.
“At The Aurora Group, we’re proud of the difference we’re making to the lives of children, young people and adults with SEND.”
