East Surrey MP officially opens Aurora Chaldon School

East Surrey MP Claire Coutinho has officially opened Aurora Chaldon School in Mersham saying it would help make a difference to the lives of autistic young people across Surrey.

Ms Coutinho said: “It was brilliant to be able to come and officially open Aurora Chaldon School and see the great work staff are doing to equip young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with the skills they need to succeed. I particularly enjoyed meeting pupils and hearing about the journey they’ve been on and how this new specialist school is making such a positive difference to their lives.”

Aurora Surrey schools’ Principal David Thomas gave Ms Coutinho a tour of the school and introduced her to some of the pupils, after which she cut a ribbon to officially open the school.
