World Book Day at Aurora

This World Book Day, our Aurora schools were buzzing with creativity, imagination, and, of course, books! Pupils and staff brought their favourite stories to life, dressing up as beloved characters and sharing the books that inspire them every day. From magical worlds to exciting adventures, our corridors were filled with the joy of reading.
At Aurora Keyes Barn School, Mr Mason once again went above and beyond, transforming his classroom into an incredible Harry Potter-themed space. Fully embracing the role, he dressed as Lord Voldemort, bringing a touch of magic (and just a little mischief!) to the day.
Meanwhile, at Aurora Brooklands School, the Business Support Team truly got into the spirit, with staff embracing the fun and helping to create a welcoming, lively atmosphere. Visitors were greeted by none other than Wednesday Addams (aka Jane), adding a spooky twist to the day.
At Aurora Meldreth Manor, World Book Day began with a “whoosh, BANG and AHHH!”, setting the tone for an exciting day ahead. Linking reading with Careers Week, staff dressed as astronauts, firefighters, nurses and other everyday heroes, helping pupils explore the connection between stories, aspirations, and the world around them.
The day was about so much more than costumes. It was a chance to foster a genuine love of reading across our school communities. Pupils explored new stories, swapped recommendations, and took part in activities designed to bring books to life. Staff shared their own favourite reads, sparking conversations and encouraging pupils to discover new literary adventures.
At Aurora, we believe reading opens doors to imagination, to learning, and to confidence. World Book Day gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate this together, and we’re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm shown by our pupils and staff alike.
