Enrichment in action at Aurora Keyes Barn School

At Aurora Keyes Barn School, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. Our enrichment programme gives students the chance to explore new skills, follow their passions, and have fun – all while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork.

Recently, our pupils have been busy discovering the joys of art, cooking, gardening, and coding. In Art Club, students have been experimenting with abstract portraits, capturing self-portraits and landscapes, and even trying their hand at photography. These activities encourage creative expression while helping children observe the world in new ways.

Over in Cooking Club, budding chefs have been getting hands-on with delicious projects, from making pizzas to baking Victoria sponge, raspberry buns, and tarts. These sessions are not just about tasty treats – they help children develop practical skills, patience, and the confidence to try new things.

Meanwhile, our Gardening Club has been digging in and getting creative outdoors, turning over beds, harvesting seeds, and nurturing plants. Gardening offers a unique mix of physical activity, responsibility, and connection with nature, all of which support wellbeing and curiosity.

For those interested in problem-solving and technology, Coding Club has been an exciting playground. Students have been building and programming robot cars, and even creating mazes for them to navigate. These projects help develop logical thinking, collaboration, and perseverance – essential skills for the modern world.

Enrichment at Aurora Keyes Barn provides more than just activities – it helps children grow in confidence, creativity, and curiosity, discovering what they love along the way.
