Poppyfield celebrates inaugural sports day

Students took part in a range of activities, including running races, sporting drills and throwing events, with many having the opportunity to try something completely new.

Surrey Schools’ Principal Dan Cundy said: “It was fantastic to see students stepping outside their comfort zones, encouraging their peers and showing brilliant teamwork and resilience.”

The day finished with a Staff vs Students Tug of War and an awards ceremony, where parents were invited to celebrate the students’ achievements.

The event also fundraised through a Macmillan Coffee Afternoon, where £105 was raised in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Dan said: “It was a brilliant first Sports Day for Poppyfield and hopefully the start of a new annual tradition!”
