A Rare Glimpse into Aurora Boveridge College’s Historic Garden

Visitors to Aurora Boveridge College on Saturday 31 May will be treated to a special community celebration - and the rare chance to explore a garden originally designed by legendary horticulturist Gertrude Jekyll in 1920.

Organised by the Parish Church of St Mary & St Bartholomew, the event at Boveridge Park is being hosted by Aurora Boveridge College with proceeds going to local community projects.

Among the attractions visitors can enjoy on the day will be an orchestra, stalls selling local produce, a display of birds of prey, plus homemade cakes and tea.

Pupils from Cranborne Primary School will give a display of Maypole dancing and students from our College will be helping organisers run the event on the day.

Church Treasurer Mrs Linda Packman said she was hoping for a great turn out, with many people expected to take the opportunity to explore the grade II listed garden. She said:

“We’re extremely grateful to everyone at Aurora for their support and generosity, allowing us the use of these wonderful gardens. The village has always enjoyed a close collaboration with the college and we look forward to a wonderful day.”
