Aurora Foxes Family Fun Day raises £210 for Dogs for Autism

Families, students and the local community came together on Monday 26 May for a Family Fun Day at Aurora Foxes Hotel, raising a brilliant £210 for Aurora’s charity of the year, Dogs for Autism.

The event was a happy celebration of community spirit and student achievement. Visitors enjoyed various games and activities, which were run by Aurora Foxes students as part of their hospitality training. From classic outdoor games and face painting to the popular ‘splat the rat’, there was something for everyone - including a chance to soak the Principal!

The Flying Fox, our student-run catering truck, was open throughout the day, serving up sizzling burgers and hot dogs.

Community groups that regularly use Foxes Hotel also attended, with the local Women’s Institute hosting a bustling tombola stand.

Entertainment came in the form of live music and musical theatre. Guests were treated to a performance by Paul Yates, a Foxes staff member and a former member of Eurovision winners Bucks Fizz! The cast of a local production of Annie also gave a performance of songs from the show.

The day was a real success, showcasing the skills and confidence of Aurora Foxes students, who helped plan and deliver the event as part of their work-based learning.

Thank you to everyone who came along, joined in the fun, and supported a brilliant cause.
