Aurora Cedars School awarded NSPCC 'Speak out Stay safe' certification

Speak out, Stay safe at Aurora Cedars School
Aurora Cedars School in Wolverhampton is proud to have been awarded the NSPCC Speak out Stay safe certification, showing our commitment to safeguarding and to giving our students the knowledge and confidence to stay safe.
The Speak out Stay safe programme is a UK-wide safeguarding initiative run by the NSPCC, designed for children aged 5 to 11. It helps young people understand what abuse is, how to recognise the signs, that abuse is never their fault and where to turn for help if they ever feel unsafe.
All of our lower school students took part in a series of age-appropriate workshops, assemblies and classroom activities. Through these sessions, students learned skills in recognising and responding to unsafe situations, both for themselves and others. The process encouraged open discussions around difficult topics in a safe and supportive environment.
Students found the sessions informative and engaging and have come away with a stronger sense of their rights and responsibilities when it comes to safety and wellbeing.
"We are really proud of how our students have engaged, understood and interacted with the programme involving potentially difficult topics to talk about. They have been really mature about it and were happy to learn about how to keep friends, family and themselves safe." Staff member.
By taking part in the Speak out Stay safe programme, we’re proud to continue to place student safety and wellbeing at the heart of our ethos, and to make sure every child feels heard and supported.
