Aurora Wilden View School
Aurora Wilden View School, a much-needed new school for pupils with additional learning needs aged 5-19 has opened today (26 February 2024) in Kidderminster.
It provides personalised, tailored education and therapeutic support in a calm, nurturing environment for students with a range of complex learning needs including social, emotional and mental health needs, including those associated with autism.
Headteacher, Robert McConomy, tells us a bit about himself and his hopes for the new school: “I’m absolutely delighted to finally open the doors of Aurora Wilden View School. We’ve been working towards this since I joined Aurora almost one year ago and it will be incredible to finally see our purpose-built service being used by our young people who will thrive in our caring, nurturing setting.
“We’ve recruited an amazing staff team who really believe in our therapeutic approach and want to make a real difference to the lives of young people in our ‘home from home’ setting.
“Throughout the last year we’ve worked incredibly hard to develop a provision that will enhance the lives of our young people to enable them to reach their full potential and achieve their aspirations. whatever they may be. We’ve built strong relationships with the local area; our new students and their families and would like to thank everyone for how they’ve welcomed us into the community.
“Our core purpose is to ensure our students thrive and we’ll do this in many ways, from providing a strong well-balanced curriculum, to providing opportunities for our young people to play an active role in both our school and local communities and further afield. We look forward to many successful years providing high quality education; therapeutic support and development opportunities to enable all our students to achieve their own personal goals and aspirations.”
