  • Youssef's Story with NHS Musgrove Park

    Youssef aged 22 doesn’t let his disabilities stand in the way of him demonstrating his employability and work skills. NHS Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton has given Youssef weekly work experience in its busy kitchen providing 1200 meals each day for patients. This enables him to transfer the food preparation expertise he has learnt at Foxes Academy – the U.K.’s only training hotel for young adults with learning disabilities. This opportunity makes a big difference to his self-confidence and future prospects for finding paid work when he graduates later this year.

  • Fantastic double first at National Waiters' Day 2018

    Foxes Academy learners were excited to be a part of National Waiter’s Day 2018 which took place in Hyde Park, London. Four students and three former students ran the 100m race carrying a bottle of water and a glass balanced on a tray. Dropping them would have meant being disqualified from the race.

  • Foxes gets festive

    Foxes Academy’s learners, staff and parents gathered at Minehead’s Regal Theatre last Friday to reflect on a year of change and triumph before they all departed for a well-earned Christmas break. Principal, Tracey Clare-Gray spoke to the audience of 300 people about how the students had achieved so much for others by serving 280 local people at Foxes Hotel’s Christmas functions and also through their fundraising for good causes.

  • Foxes wins Springboard Award for Regional Excellence

    We were delighted to win ‘Best Regional Initiative’ at the SpringBoard 2017 Awards for Excellence last week in London. SpringBoard is the hospitality industry charity that supports young, unemployed people into work throughout the UK. The award recognised Foxes Academy’s work experience programme which has been developed over the past 20 years and now has in excess of 50 work providers in the local community.
