New Gloucestershire special school Aurora Severnside has been awarded a rating of “Good” by Ofsted just over a year after opening.
Aurora Severnside, near Berkley, opened in September 2021 and is an independent day school for pupils aged 11-16 with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Aurora Hanley School is celebrating two impressive achievements after recently scooping a national award and getting Outstanding from Ofsted for the second time.
Aurora Boveridge College in Dorset has received a positive rating for its first full Ofsted since it opened in 2017. Describing it as calm, nurturing and friendly, Ofsted gave Aurora Boveridge a “good” rating overall and noted that behaviour and attitudes were “outstanding”.
Aurora White House School and Aurora Eccles School have achieved the Bronze ABQM-UK Award, and are now working towards the Silver Award by incorporating the relevant standards into their annual targets for the 2022/23 academic year.

Aurora Hedgeway School has received a positive Ofsted report with the pupils describing it as a ‘sanctuary’. Aurora Hedgeway, whose pupils have complex communication needs typically associated with autism, was praised for its effective leadership and the promotion of pupils’ personal development.
Aurora Woodlands School received a positive Ofsted report - achieving a ‘Good’ rating for all the assessed criteria. Describing the school as a happy and welcoming place, the report highlighted regular attendance, positive attitudes and improvement in behaviour and learning.
