Our Curriculum
At Aurora Foxes, we believe in changing lives by giving students the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to shape their own futures. Our aim is to equip every young adult with the independence and employability skills required to be Work Ready and Life Ready.
Our curriculum is built on the belief that learning should be engaging, meaningful and rooted in real-world experience. Students learn not only in classrooms, but also in our training hotel, residential houses, therapy sessions, enrichment activities, work experience placements and the wider community.
The content and delivery of the curriculum reflect our Aurora values:
Caring • Ambitious • Collaborative • Trusted • Innovative
A Whole-College Curriculum
Our curriculum is best understood as the totality of student experience at Aurora Foxes. It is delivered by vocational tutors, therapists, house staff and instructors as much as by teachers in classrooms. Every team member understands their role in delivering the curriculum intent and supporting students towards their outcomes.
Each student's timetable includes a personalised combination of lessons, enrichment opportunities, visits, visitors, cultural experiences and structured work experience. These elements are carefully planned to support students' journeys towards increased independence and meaningful adulthood.
Employability at the Heart
Preparation for the world of work is central to our Work Ready, Life Ready approach. Soft employment skills, professionalism and vocational expectations are embedded throughout the curriculum. Aurora Foxes delivers all eight of the Gatsby Benchmarks of good careers provision.
Progression and Achievement
We offer nationally recognised qualifications and a personalised, holistic programme for each student, with a clear roadmap of progression. We strive for excellence in everything we do, ensuring strong outcomes in independence, employability, wellbeing and next steps.
