The curriculum enables students to gain skills in food and beverage services, food preparation and hospitality services.
Our assessors have a high level of expertise and a wealth of experience within the hospitality and catering industry, they are dedicated to ensuring students are trained to achieve the highest of standards both within their work and qualifications.
Functional skills, health & safety, food hygiene, equality and diversity are embedded in all areas of the curriculum.
Course Duration: 1-3 years (including prep course and/or ability levels and/or previous experience)
Young people should not have a qualification of the same type, content and level.
There are no formal entry requirements. However, a robust assessment process will take place to ensure the young person is on the correct programme of study and to confirm course duration.
If you haven't made your mind up yet, this is the qualification for you. You can choose your focus as you go, perhaps in serving, cooking, reception work, housekeeping or administration.
To gain an NVQ, you need to show you've got a particular set of skills. You will review your current skills and find the best way to gain new ones - perhaps by trying new things at work, or by studying.
NVQs are assessed at work. For each unit your assessor watches and asks questions as you perform a task, or looks at a portfolio of work that you've built as formal evidence of your learning. Then they confirm you've got the skills to do the job well.
